What to Wear this Fourth of July and Not Look Cheesy

Need a little help feeling patriotic this Fourth of July? Before you start sipping that cocktail and jumping into your friend’s backyard pool, you need to show up looking your best.

Whether you are attending a rooftop pool party or BBQ at your folks place, we have some outfit ideas that won’t leave you looking like your mother dressed you.

If wearing red, white and blue this Independence Day, here are some more subtle ways to show that you are proud to be an American (even if you’re not too keen with the current president).

4th of July Outfits ideas

Matching striped set

Show your festive mood with a matching short and cropped top. Look for styles that are blue and white stripes for a chic style that is dressy enough for a cocktail party. Throw on a pair of red open-toed wedges or a pair of red bonbons earrings to complete your patriotic style.

Show off your bikini stripes

If this Independence Day you want to send it pool-side then a red and white striped bikini is in order. If you feel that your flash of red on your suit isn’t screaming loud enough that your love America, then slap on some blue flip-flops and flag headband or bandana.

Look preppy in a denim dress

Looking for a more toned down style, then wear a stonewashed blue short denim jumpsuit but instead of cinching your waist with a belt, adopt this year’s trend of wearing a stylish fanny pack. Just don’t forget you take your little bag and throw on some bright red lipstick to watch the fireworks.

Simple little jumpsuit

Jumpsuit, romper or whatever you want to call it, nothing beats a simple white, short jumpsuit that can easily be made to pop with a few essential accessories. Choose a bright pair of oversized red sunglasses and some light blue sneakers. Don’t forget to throw on your enormous sunhat.

Sport your independence in a denim mini skirt

The ultimate style for this Independence Day is a simple blue jean mini-skirt with a cropped bold red tee and a pair of white Birkenstocks. If that doesn’t scream independent enough for you, grab a star-spangled clutch.

Awe them with your little red dress

Put your little black dress into the closet and throw on that adorable red dress that you have been waiting for the perfect occasion to wear. Once this dress is on, you are basically screaming: “ready” just, add some blue tassel earrings and shades. Throw on a little blue backpack to complete your look.

Denim blue jean jacket

Nothing looks more American than the traditional blue jean jacket, especially when paired with a cute little white jean skirt with a striped and starred bikini underneath. Just avoid going cheesy with this look by adding too much red accessories.
