Vegan Celebrities from Ariana Grande to Miley Cyrus

Being vegan isn’t as easy as it sounds, as it requires a huge dose of dedication and self-discipline. Saying goodbye to chicken quesadillas or even jean beans isn’t for everyone. However, more and more people are choosing to go vegan for different reasons.

Some people consider a vegan diet to be a healthier alternative for the planet and environment or others can’t handle the thought of animals suffering. Many believe a vegan diet is healthier than a diet that includes animal proteins.

But the truth of the matter is, we are only as healthy as the foods we consume and there are plenty of sugary, fatty vegan alternatives out there to ruin your diet. Many people have come to believe that veganism will be an instant improvement in your health. However, new studies have shown that fish, chicken and even red meat isn’t as bad for our health as we recently believed.

November, each year, is vegan month, which gives us the perfect opportunity to try eating less meat and opting for that new vegan restaurant on the corner. If you are still in need of inspiration to give veganism a spin, here are some celebrities who have decided to be vegans. Each of them have gone vegan for different reasons, such as health, environmental or health.

Miley Cyrus

Cyrus is well known for promoting the vegan movement and has been a vegan since 2014. She loves all animals, but the motivating factor in becoming a vegan was when a group of coyotes killed her beloved childhood dog. Cyrus isn’t an occasional vegan that takes a break every once and awhile, but she has been called the “veganest vegan to ever be vegan.”

Ellie Goulding

Goulding has been trying to be a vegan for years, but her love of dairy products prevented her from taking the leap from being vegetarian to vegan. But in 2018 she finally gave up her dairy products and embraced the vegan world. She feels since she gave up dairy, she has more energy and can run even faster.

Ellen Pompeo

Our favorite Grey Anatomy star is also a vegan. She decided to adopt a vegan diet after a life-changing visit to the doctor’s office. But she didn’t jump on the vegan train alone, her entire family joined her. Pompeo loves cooking with grains, beans and rice as it tastes healthier and it doesn’t go bad as fast as meat products.

Zac Efron

Efron said that being a vegan has changed his life. His body works better, it metabolizes food faster and more efficiently. Plus, he has more energy and sleeps way better than when he ate meat. His only regret is not becoming a vegan sooner.

Ariana Grande

Ariana has been a vegan before it was even considered hip. Grande started veganism in 2013. The reason? She loves animals more than she loves most humans, plus she firmly believes eating a whole-food plant-based diet will improve the quality and length of our life.

The pop-star queen cut out all animal products in 2013, along with wheat. Madonna follows a strict vegan, macrobiotic diet that relies heavily on sea vegetables for proteins.
