Kim Kardashian West is bombarded daily with requests from her fans for her to share with them her make-up routine and finally she has posted everything we have been dying to know, online in a nine minute video on her website.
Here is a sum up of how Kim applies her OWN makeup without the help of an entourage of makeup artists and stylists.
Step 1: Cleanse your face
Kim uses disposable makeup remover towels to wipe her face clean and remove any excess makeup. She admits that she normally uses her face wash but these towels are a great substitution.
Step 2: Hydrate
Now she applies her moisturizer, but she says that she prefers using creams or lotions that come with a little extra shimmer or glitter that gives her foundation a little extra glow.
Step 3: Generously apply your foundation
Kim always ties her hair for this part. Then she dabs foundation basically everywhere including her eyes, neck, chest and the back of her neck. She blends it in using first a foundation brush, and then a sponge to make sure it is all evenly smoothed out.
Step 4: A little contouring never hurt
Kim says that no matter how pressed you are for time, you can take a minute of two for contouring your hairline. Apply a darker toned foundation and blend in; this will make your forehead look smaller.
Step 5: It’s all about the eyes
She starts off by curling her long lashes, layering three to four different layers of eyeliner. Adding a touch of neutral toned shadows and then applying mascara from the root right up the tip and separating with a eyelash comb, and repeating the process two more times.
Step 6: Smack those lips
Kim isn’t a big fan of brightly colored lipsticks, as she believes it distracts from her main focal point her eyes. Apply first a lip liner that is a little bit darker than your lipstick. Then apply your lipstick starting from the bow of your middle lip and work outwards and repeat with the lower lip. Apply a touch of lip-gloss to make them pop.
